The evolution of the nitrides produced by N-implantation of Cr-rich st
eel samples previously bombarded with Kr and annealed up to temperatur
e corresponding to 0.5 of the melting point is studied by means of con
version electron Mossbauer spectroscopy (CEMS), nuclear reaction analy
sis (NRA), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) techniques. The
TEM results show the size evolution of the bubbles. The dependence of
the bubbles on the nitride evolution is established by CEMS results an
d a retention of epsilon-Fe2+xN up to 400-degrees-C was observed. The
N-profile was obtained by NRA.
