Abstract
We develop orthogonal wavelet pyramid methods for registration and mat ching. The registration algorithm described compensates for the repres entation's lack of translation invariance. It shows better performance when tested with Laplacian pyramids. For matching applications, we de rive filters that directly generate coarse representations of candidat es for comparison to library prototypes.
