Abstract
A multidimensional approach is introduced to the representation of unc ertain information in conjunction with the Dempster-Schafer theory. A multidimensional array, called a transition array, is defined, which s tores the joint probabilities of the occurrences of a set of variables taking values in different sets. Using this array, it is shown how to compute the information regarding the probability of occurrences of t he variables as certain matrix products.
