The effect of electrohydraulic pulse treatment (EHPT) on the structure
-sensitive characteristics (surface tension, kinematic viscosity) of 0
8GDNFL grade steel, grey iron and MO grade copper. The effect of EHPT
on the rate of diffusion of elements in liquid copper was determined e
xperimentally. EHPT was found to increase the surface tension of melts
and simultaneously decrease their kinematic viscosity. A significant
acceleration of diffusion of elements in liquid copper was observed. T
hese changes were attributed to the reduction of chemical microinhomog
eneity of metal melts as a result of destruction or reduction of size
of microgroups (clusters).
