Using the method of calorimetry of dissolution in liquid aluminum, the
re have been determined the standard enthalpy of the formation of inte
rmetallic (NiAl)(beta) phase alloyed with iron at temperature 298 K De
lta H degrees(f.298). For the (Ni0.5Al0.5)beta compound, Delta H degre
es(f.298) has been foundd to be equal to -58.0+/-3.0 kT/mole. It has b
een established that addition of iron to the (Ni0.5Al0.5)beta compound
leads to an increase of Delta H degrees(f.298).
