Rjb. Peters et Jadv. Vanduivenbode, DETERMINATION OF PYRIDINE IN SOIL AND WATER SAMPLES OF A POLLUTED AREA, Fresenius' journal of analytical chemistry, 348(3), 1994, pp. 249-251
A method for the analyses of pyridine in environmental samples is desc
ribed. For soil samples a distillation procedure followed by an extrac
tion, an acidic extraction or a Soxhlet extraction can be used. For wa
ter samples a distillation procedure followed by extraction can be emp
loyed. Deuterated pyridine is used as an internal standard and the ext
racts are analyzed by GC-MS. The recoveries of the methods are higher
than 80%; the detection limits for pyridine are 0.01 mg/kg for soil sa
mples and 0.2 mu g/l for water samples.
