Abstract
Assuming a high-energy Regge behavior for the pi-constituent-quark sca ttering amplitude, we point out that it is not appropriate to discuss the Adler-Weisberger relation in the simple chiral quark model. We fin d large contributions to g(A), the axial vector coupling of the consti tuent quark, of the order O(N-c(O)) from the energy region above m(p). This is based upon an analysis in terms of finite energy sum rules.
