Abstract
The synthesis of 16 new 4-alkylthio- and 4-(E)-N-thioalkyl-4-azachalco nyl substituted derivatives of uracil and their antimicrobial activity are reported. Compounds 5a and 5c showed a goad antimicrobial activit y against Staphylococcus aureus and a moderate activity against Strept ococcus feacalis.
