Pr. Salomone, ANNUAL-REVIEW - PRACTICE AND RESEARCH IN CAREER COUNSELING AND DEVELOPMENT, 1993, The Career development quarterly, 42(2), 1993, pp. 99-128
This is not a boring, sterile review. Neither is it exhaustive, unbias
ed, or genteel. My aspiration was to write an interesting, informative
, and forthright article that would encourage career counselors to con
tinue their education by reading the original books and articles discu
ssed herein. The praise I expressed is genuine, as is the criticism. M
y intent was to explain what I found useful, thoughtful, helpful-or no
t not. My hope is that those who read this review will appreciate my v
iewpoints. I do not expect everyone, however, to subscribe to my posit
ions for, surely, controversy and eclecticism may hone the critical an
d creative thinking necessary to move career counseling and developmen
t forward into the next millennium.
