Abstract
Spontaneous perforation of the esophagus (Boerhaave syndrome) is a rar e diagnosis in acute thoracic or epigastric pain. We present the case of a swiftly diagnosed and successfully treated rupture. Apart from pa thophysiology, symptoms and diagnosis, the differential diagnosis and therapeutic options are discussed in more detail.
