Dr. Snelling et al., MEASUREMENTS OF THE TOTAL 3RD-ORDER NONRESONANT SUSCEPTIBILITIES OF C3H8, CO2, AND C2H4 AND THEIR APPLICATION TO N-2 CARS THERMOMETRY, Applied optics, 32(36), 1993, pp. 7546-7550
The total nonresonant susceptibilities of C3H8, CO2, and C2H4, measure
d by fitting the coherent anti-Stokes Raman spectra of binary mixtures
of these gases and nitrogen with theoretical N-2 CARS spectra are rep
orted. These measurements are compared with the values in the literatu
re obtained by CARS and other techniques. For propane and carbon dioxi
de, the effect of including their contribution to the broadening of ni
trogen Raman lines on the inferred nonresonant susceptibilities is als
o examined.
