ZONAL PECULIARITIES OF THE ECOLOGY OF WHIMBREL

On the basis of published information and his own long-term observatio ns of individually labeled birds, the author gives comparative data on the habitat, nesting density, spatial structure of populations, nest conservatism, nesting success, and other ecological characteristics of whimbrel in different zonal conditions. Peculiarities of the species biology at the northern limit of its range were revealed.
