Abstract
The synthesis of novel tetrahydro 3H-benzothieno[2,3-d]imidazole 2b an d the corresponding 2-carboxylate 2a is described. Intramolecular cycl isation of a key 1,2-diacylaminobenzothiophene 9 was utilised.
