Abstract
The base-catalyzed intramolecular Diels-Alder reactions of the furfury l propargyl ethers la-le gave compounds 6a-6e as the major product res pectively, a novel reaction involving an intramolecular Diels-Alder re action followed by a methylthio group 1,4-rearrangement.
