Abstract
The excitation energy dependence of the e(g) and t(2g) components of t he photoionization cross sections of 3d metals has been studied ?Be cr oss section for the e(g) electrons responsible for hybridized chemical bonds was shown to rise with the excitation energy. X-Ray Al K-alpha radiation is recommended for XPS studies of chemical bonding between m etal atoms and their environment in alloys based on d metals.
