Abstract
The structural investigation of alloys of the Fe - n and Fe - Nb syste ms has been carried out. The formation of Laves phases proceeds throug h the stage of forming the tweed structure with a periodic alternation of regions enriched in and depleted of an alloying element, Anomalous change in the properties of the alloys is established:the formation o f the tweed structure is accompanied by the decrease of the alloy hard ness.
