Abstract
We show that the initial-value problem for the Madelung hydrodynamic e quations is not well-defined unless it is supplemented by additional c onditions at the nodal boundaries. These conditions present a challeng e for interpretations of quantum mechanics based on these equations, b ut may suggest means for stabilizing numerical solutions to these equa tions.
