Abstract
We consider a classical spin chain showing axial anisotropic couplings . We expand each operator exp (- BHiex) on the basis of spheroidal fun ctions. The zero-field partition function is derived as well as the su sceptibilities X(xx) and X(zz). We point out predictable and original behaviors in the low-temperature limit.
