Abstract
On the basis of analysis of general properties of ecological systems, the main directions of development of natural sciences, historical exp erience, and world trends of ecological research, faking into account the specific situation in Russia, a number of directions are distingui shed which seem most promising for development of domestic ecology. In this case, study of biological systems will remain the core of ecolog y.
