MORPHOLOGICAL-CHANGES IN TISSUE OF THE TESTES AND KIDNEYS IN JAPANESE-QUAIL EXPOSED TO MICROGRAVITY

The effect of 7-days microgravity on the electronmicroscopical picture of testis and kidney of Japanese quail (Coturnix coturnix japonica) w as studied on board the cosmic station MIR. Three groups of quail were used: experimental flight group (aboard the space station), a synchro nous control group, and a laboratory control. As studied by the transm ission electron microscopy ultrastructural changes in tissues of teste s and kidneys in-both the experimental flight and synchronous control groups were the same and are interpreted as reversible.
