Abstract
A novel aqueous bilayer membrane that is formed from amphiphilic compl exes of complementary hydrogen bond pairs provided a specific dye bind ing site similar to that of the conventional ammonium bilayer. Partial dissociation of the hydrogen bond pairs and the consequent component separation occurred by heating the aqueous bilayer to 80 - 100-degrees -C.
