Abstract
Supramolecular bilayer assemblies, each composed of a peptide lipid ha ving an (S)-alanine residue, an additional one having (S)-binaphthol a nd (S)-alanine moieties, a hydrophobic pyridoxal derivative, and coppe r(II) ions, mediated the aldolation of glycine with benzaldehyde to af ford beta-phenylserine under mild reaction conditions, exhibiting mark ed enantioselectivity.
