BLOOD PROFILES IN PREPARTURIENT AND POSTPARTURIENT COWS AND IN MILK-FEVER CASES

Packed-cell volume, haemoglobin, serum albumin, serum magnesium and ca lcium and phosphorus ratio did not differ significantly in pre-parturi ent and postparturient cows and in milk-fever cases. Blood glucose and A : G ratio decreased and serum globulin, calcium, iron and zinc incr eased in postparturient cows than in pre-parturient cows, In milk-feve r cases serum total proteins, globulins, iron and zinc increased, and blood glucose, serum copper, A :G and Ca : Mg ratios decreased when co mpared with pre-parturient cows.
