This article discusses specifics of the concept of an ecological norm.
The phenomenon of adaptation of biological systems of various ranks t
o unfavorable environmental factors is considered as a necessary eleme
nt of the biological norm. The coordination of various levels of ecolo
gical normalization (landscape-geographic, biogeocenotic, population)
is considered. In accordance with this, the authors investigated the p
ossibility of using indices of biological diversity to regulate anthro
pogenic loads. Basic requirements are formulated for indicator species
taken as the object of normalization at the population rank. The prob
lem of extrapolating data from experimental ecotoxicology to natural o
bjects is posed. The possibility of introducing time categories of eco
logical norms was studied at the practical level.
