Pn. Nesterenko et al., SEPARATION OF METAL-IONS BY REVERSED-PHASE LIQUID-CHROMATOGRAPHY USING ON-COLUMN COMPLEXATION WITH 2-PYRIDINECARBOXYLIC ACID, Analytica chimica acta, 285(1-2), 1994, pp. 161-168
Picolinic acid was used as an on-column chelating agent for the revers
ed-phase liquid chromatographic separation of manganese(II), copper(II
), nickel(II), cobalt(II), cadmium(II) and zinc(II). The effects of pi
colinic acid concentration, pH and type and content of organic solvent
on the retention of transition metal ions have been studied. The poss
ibility of sensitive UV detection of complexes at 235 nm is demonstrat
ed. Data on the use of studied system for the determination of some me
tal ions in a galvanic bath waste water are presented.
