A. Duran et al., STUDY OF THE BEHAVIOR OF AL2TIO5 MATERIALS IN REDUCING ATMOSPHERE BY SPECTROSCOPIC TECHNIQUES, Journal of the European Ceramic Society, 13(1), 1994, pp. 73-80
The thermal stability of two materials based on aluminium titanate, ob
tained through reaction sintering at 1450-degrees-C and heat treated i
n atmosphere of N2/H-2 90/10 was studied using spectroscopic technique
s. The samples were analysed by reflectance in visible, UV and NIR, el
ectronic paramagnetic resonance (EPR) and Mossbauer spectroscopy. Thes
e techniques give coinciding results with regard to the reduction of T
i4+ to Ti3+ and to changes in the structural site changing of Fe3+ in
reducing atmosphere.
