A kinetic model was developed to represent the catalytic cracking of h
eavy oil from waste plastics by rare-earth metal exchanged Y-type (REY
) zeolite to produce gasoline. The influences of reaction conditions o
n the product distributions were previously reported by us. On the bas
is of these results, a reaction pathway was proposed and a set of diff
erential equations was developed, The kinetic parameters were determin
ed by nonlinear least-squares regression of the experimental data. The
se parameters were found to be proportional to the amount of strong ac
id sites of the used catalysts. The calculated values of the product d
istribution were found to be in good agreement with the experimental d
ata.
