Abstract
The synthetic utility of trifluoroacetyl ketene diethylacetal has been exploited to build novel imidazoles, oxazoles, quinazolines and perim idine compounds that contain a trifluoroacetonyl group. The products t hemselves are interesting starting materials for a variety of new comp ounds.
