V. Perrin et al., LIMITATIONS OF SEROLOGIC TESTS FOR TOXOPL ASMOSIS IN HIV-INFECTED SUBJECTS - 2 CASE-REPORTS, La Semaine des hopitaux de Paris, 70(5-6), 1994, pp. 155-158
Serologic tests failed to contribute to the diagnosis of toxoplasmosis
in two HIV-infected patients. One patient developed adenopathy with n
egative serologic tests for toxoplasmosis, whereas the other had syste
mic manifestations with no increase in IgG titers. In patients with un
explained neurological manifestations or fever, negative serological t
ests or stable antibody titers should not be taken as ruling out toxop
lasmosis.
