Abstract
We examine the infinite frequency elastic moduli of steeply repulsive
inverse power, r(-n), potential fluids. Using molecular dynamics simul
ation we show that these are proportional to n and therefore diverge i
n the hard-sphere n-->infinity limit, which we also prove independentl
y for the case of spheres.
