Abstract
The experimental small angle neutron scattering (SANS) data of Kunz et al. [J. Chem. Phys. 99, 2074 (1993)] for bulky ions in solution are r eanalyzed to show that the potential energy fitting functions used to extract pair correlation functions from the data are not unique. This emphasizes a well-known difficulty is interpreting such data.
