I. Mutlu et Tt. Alshemmeri, THE EFFECT OF CROSS-FLOW ON HEAT-TRANSFER AUGMENTATION WITH INTERRUPTED LONGITUDINAL FINS, Experimental thermal and fluid science, 8(1), 1994, pp. 91-100
Experiments were conducted with a shrouded array of interrupted fins w
ith and without crossflow of air across the test section. The paramete
rs varied during the steady-state experiments were the blowing rate an
d power input. Friction factors and turbulence intensities were determ
ined for both continuous and interrupted configurations. Average heat
transfer coefficients and fin efficiencies were also determined and co
nclusions made regarding the influence of crossflow on the pressure dr
op and heat transfer rate of the interrupted fins.
