The study of the reaction kinetics of steam conversion of methane on a
nickel wire and a GIAP-16 catalyst in the form of commercial pellets
and 0.25- to 0.50-mm fraction granules was performed in a flow-circula
ting reactor under atmospheric pressure. The data for the GIAP-16-supp
orted nickel catalyst provided the basis for the assumption that the p
rocess of steam conversion of methane proceeded on this catalyst throu
gh a homogeneous-heterogeneous mechanism.
