A study of crown-containing polymer distribution over a mesoporous car
bon support is performed, making use of a comparative analysis of nitr
ogen sorption isotherms on the support and the supported catalysts. Th
e polymer content partition between the surface and the pore volume of
the support is determined, and the correlation between the catalytic
activity of the system in the reaction 1-bromooctane+KI and the fracti
on of the bulk polymer filling the pores is established. Some potentia
lities of the comparative analysis of sorption isotherms are demonstra
ted by this study.
