As. Ivanova et al., EFFECT OF PREPARATION TECHNIQUE FOR NICKEL MAGNESIUM CATALYSTS OF METHANE VAPOR CONVERSION ON THEIR PROPERTIES, Kinetics and catalysis, 34(4), 1993, pp. 681-683
The influence of the method of preparation of nickel-magnesium catalys
ts of methane vapor conversion on their physical-chemical and catalyti
c properties was studied. It was established that independently of the
procedure used, the formation of solid MgO-NiO solutions occurred; ho
wever, the relation between the components and the values of parameter
s of their elementary cells is determined by the content of the active
component and by the synthesis method. The degree of reduction of the
samples produced by mixing is higher than that of specimens obtained
by coprecipitation. The surface area of metal nickel is largest when i
ts content is 20 - 30 wt %. The specific catalytic activity of specime
ns in the reaction of methane vapor conversion(0.1 +/- 0.03 cm(3) m(-2
) Ni s(-1)) is approximately constant and does not depend on the synth
esis technique.
