Abstract
The treatment of a young man with chronic symptomatic gross subluxatio
n of the distal radio-ulnar joint of the right wrist secondary to trau
matic disruption of the triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC) is de
scribed. At operation, a strip of tensor fascia lata was used to stabi
lize the distal radio-ulnar joint. Complete relief of pain and restora
tion of normal function was obtained following surgery. The literature
on TFCC disorders is also reviewed.
