Abstract
Synthesis and characterization of new chiral phosphines derived from c arbohydrates such as D-mannitol and D-sorbitol have been described. Th e chiral phosphine complexes display moderate enantioselectivity in th e asymmetric hydrogenation of methyl ester of benzamidocinmamic acid.
