Rl. Oconnor et Fb. Sevarino, CARDIOPULMONARY ARREST IN THE PREGNANT PATIENT - A REPORT OF A SUCCESSFUL RESUSCITATION, Journal of clinical anesthesia, 6(1), 1994, pp. 66-68
We report the case of a pregnant patient who suffered cardiac arrest a
nd was initially unresponsive to resuscitative measures. Prompt emerge
nt cesarean delivery of the infant was carried out, and both mother an
d infant were then successfully resuscitated. We believe that prompt c
esarean delivery is the key to maternal and infant survival in such ca
ses.
