D. Drikakis et F. Durst, INVESTIGATION OF FLUX FORMULAS IN TRANSONIC SHOCK-WAVE TURBULENT BOUNDARY-LAYER INTERACTION, International journal for numerical methods in fluids, 18(4), 1994, pp. 385-413
The aim of the present study is to examine the accuracy and improvemen
t of various numerical methods in the solution of the transonic shock/
turbulent boundary layer interaction problem and to show that a signif
icant source of numerical inaccuracies in turbulent flows is not only
the inadequacy of the turbulence model but also the numerical discreti
zation. Comparisons between a Riemann solver and a flux-vector-splitti
ng method as well as between various numerical high-order extrapolatio
n schemes with corresponding experimental results are presented.
