Abstract
1. Total saponin fraction decreased the affinity of specific [H-3]musc imol binding without changes in B-max. Ginsenoside Rb-1 Rb-2, Rc, Re, Rf and Rg, inhibited the specific [H-3]muscimol binding to the high-af finity site. 2. Total saponin fraction increased the affinity of speci fic [H-3]flunitrazepam binding. Ginsenoside Re and Rf enhanced specifi c [H-3]flunitrazepam binding. 3. Total saponin fraction decreased the affinity of specific [S-35]TBPS binding without changes in B-max. Gins enosides did not affect specific or non-specific [S-35]TBPS binding. 4 . Total saponin fraction decreased the affinity of specific [H-3]baclo fen binding without changes in B-max. Ginsenoside Rc inhibited specifi c [H-3]baclofen binding.
