Changes in the spin orientation in cold-rolled Fe-12 at% Si alloy samp
les were studied by means of the Mossbauer effect. In the deformed str
ucture two components were distinguished: high dislocation density reg
ions (HDDRs) and original crystalline structure with low dislocation d
ensity. It is shown that spins are reoriented by cold-rolling toward t
he sheet plane and rolling direction in both components but in HDDRs t
his orientation is more pronounced. The results indicate that HDDRs ha
ve the dominating influence on the spin reorientation in the whole vol
ume of the sample.
