The behaviour of quasi-reversible and irreversible waves for different
ial pulse polarography (DPP) performed at dropping and static mercury
drop electrodes, was studied as a function of the first polarization t
ime, the pulse duration and the potential step amplitude. The experime
ntal results confirm the theoretical predictions and show that for slo
w reactions a decrease in the first polarization time and an increase
in the potential step amplitude yield a real improvement in sensitivit
y.
