Abstract
The present investigation is concerned with the behaviour of a dissipa tive, originally axisymmetric, torquefree model gyro, that has deforma tion in the body-fixed equatorial plane only. This model gyro has been devised to pick up deformations due to the centrifugal forces in the equatorial plane, and serves to describe the resulting motion.
