Iy. Ponomarenko et al., THE RELATION BETWEEN ACIDITY AND ACTIVITY IN THE REACTION OF VAPOR-PHASE PHENOL METHYLATION ON ZEOLITES MODIFIED BY MECHANOCHEMICAL TREATMENT, Kinetics and catalysis, 34(6), 1993, pp. 986-989
The dependence of the activity of zeolites in the reactions of C-alkyl
ation of phenol on the number and strength of Bronsted acid sites is d
etermined. Mechanochemical treatment influences the acid-site distribu
tion. Hydroxyaluminum species that do not enter the framework and are
localized at the zeolite surface exhibit a negative effect on the occu
rrence of the process.
