A study of the phase equilibria. structure. and mechanical and magneti
c properties of the dispersion-hardened sendast-type alloy (Fe-9.5 wt%
Si-5.5 wt% Al) showed that small addition of Me(IV)B(n), boride resul
ts in a considerable grain refinement, and an increase in hardness and
wear resistance. The structure or the boride-containing alloys provid
es an increase in the effective magnetic permeability in the 1.5 - 30
MHz frequency range.
