The oxidation kinetics of fine-grain copper powder produced from gaseo
us phase was studied when heated in air at different rates. The sequen
ce of the oxidation stages was determined using thermogravimetric (TG)
and differential thermal analysis (DTA) and phase analysis. The kinet
ics were analyzed on the basic of a well-known method widely used for
die study of thermal decomposition in various systems. The limiting st
age of the reaction was determined and the kinetic parameters calculat
ed.
