Abstract
Consolidated work loads running around the clock means that today's la rge, general-purpose computers must meet high availability demands. To meet these demands, the Model 982 provides fault tolerance by combini ng enhanced circuit-level error detection and failure isolation techni ques with system-level techniques exploiting inherent redundancy.
