Jl. Binder et al., RECOMMENDATIONS FOR IMPROVING PSYCHOTHERAPY TRAINING BASED ON EXPERIENCES WITH MANUAL-GUIDED TRAINING AND RESEARCH - EPILOGUE, Psychotherapy, 30(4), 1993, pp. 599-600
The contributions to this special section reflected experiences with d
iverse models of psychotherapy, as well as experiences in both researc
h and programmatic teaching contexts. However, all of the authors shar
e a familiarity with the use of treatment manuals to guide training. W
hile differences of opinions occasionally can be detected, the contrib
utors produced several recurrent recommendations for improving psychot
herapy training. The first two recommendations refer to specific areas
of knowledge and skill, while the remainder refer to teaching formats
and methods.
