P. Koczon et al., THE COMPARISON OF THE INFLUENCE OF IONIC POTENTIAL AND ELECTRONEGATIVITY OF SELECTED METALS AND HALOGENS ON THE ELECTRONIC SYSTEM OF BENZOIC-ACID, Canadian journal of applied spectroscopy, 41(6), 1996, pp. 144-149
Lithium, sodium, potassium, rubidium and cesium salts of para halogeno
benzoic acids were investigated to study the influence of halogens and
metals on the electronic system of aromatic ring. This was done by H-
1 and C-13 NMR, IR and Raman spectroscopy and semiempirical calculatio
ns (AMI method). It was shown that ionic potentials and electronegativ
ities of halogens and metals are the main factors responsible for pert
urbation of electronic charge distribution in the ring.
