Jl. Bobin, COMPTON-SCATTERING, INTERFERENCES AND THE DIAGNOSTIC OF SMALL RELATIVISTIC ELECTRON BUNCHES, Optics communications, 105(3-4), 1994, pp. 178-182
Compton scattering occurs when relativistic electrons impinge onto a l
aser created interference pattern. It is shown that the amount of scat
tered light is simply related to the Fourier transform of the transver
se spacial distribution in the beam. A method is devised accordingly t
o diagnose small size electron bunches.
